As a counselor, I believe the relationship between therapist and client is everything. Feeling comfortable and connected with your therapist is vital—and research has shown that this relationship is the most important indicator for successful counseling! That’s why I provide counseling rooted in authentic relationship and empathic connection. My goal is for every client to feel comforted, knowing that, just like you, I am human first. Especially when it comes to being a mother, wife and woman.
Now for the boring details...
I graduated from the CACREP Accredited Counseling program at the University of North Texas in 2022. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate (LPCC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC) in Colorado. I am also a Certified Perinatal Mental Health Professional (PMH-C), which is just a fancy way of saying that I have extensive training and expertise in the mental health and counseling of mothers.
I believe that counseling is the process of self-growth through relationship. The work you do throughout your counseling journey is holy, sacred ground and I consider it an immense privilege to navigate that journey alongside you.
Therapy is not only about your mental health, but your holistic health. I care deeply about your health: mind, body, spirit, emotions, relationships, routines – all of it. Our bodies are systems and when one area is suffering, it affects all of the other areas. Counseling allows us to explore many of these areas to bring balance and health back to our system.
As a result, I work from an integrative and person-centered approach to counseling. This approach is rooted in relationship, presence, and empathy, all of which allow us to have an authentic connection. Your values, lived experiences, perspectives, hopes, and beliefs matter and should be integrated into your counseling process.
I believe that we all have an innate ability to navigate the challenges of life and return to a state of congruence when we allocate the time and energy to processing feelings, thoughts, suffering, and experiences with the support of a counselor. My use of therapeutic skills and the integration of what matters most to you (faith, values, beliefs) can facilitate insight and therapeutic outcomes when we work as a collaborative team.
Counseling is never one-size-fits-all. You are served best when your counseling experience is tailored to your unique needs, goals, and desires. Therefore, I will adapt skills, techniques, and interventions as needed to aid you throughout your therapeutic journey. Through the counseling process, I seek to normalize the vast array of emotions you experience in life while providing you with a safe space to process your story. Above all else, I hope you feel connected, understood, safe, and seen.
I’m a proud Vermont native who fell in love with Colorado and has considered it home since 2017 when my husband and I met in Denver. After leaving in 2019 and spending a few years in Texas, we returned home in early 2024 to establish our permanent roots in Colorado.
My husband and I have been married since 2018 and are the proud parents of our three children. Our two boys who we have the honor of raising on earth, and our daughter who knows perfect love and has called Heaven home since 2021. I’m happiest when I’m in the mountains and exploring nature and feel most fulfilled when I’m spending time in the places I love with the people I love.
